In 2001 they released their second CD "Angle Not Distance" and are anticipating recording a live CD in the near future. Over the past few years the group has opened for such artists as jazz saxophonist Tom Scott , Los Hombres Calientes and the New Orleans based funk group All That, as well as being featured performers at festivals such as Jubilee Jam and Red Beans and Rice.

THE VAMPS rely on classic tunes from the groovy "Jive Samba" by Nat Adderley to the funky "Hottentot" by John Scofield. Mix that with many original compositions by guitarist Barry Leach, throw in a "rhumba-esque" version of The Beatles "You Can't Do That", some Funky Meters, as well as other classics arranged to fit their unique sound, and you
have a representation of what THE VAMPS are all about.

THE VAMPS- Personnel
Barry Leach - Guitar, Vocals
Denny Burkes - Drums
Kevin Lewis - Alto Saxophone, Vocals
Terry Miller - Trumpet, Fluglehorn, Vocals
Booker Walker - Tenor Saxophone
Adib Sabir - Percussion, Vocals
Bob Pieczyk - Bass</itunes:summary>

        <itunes:category text="Music"/>
        <itunes:keywords>music, mississippi, jazz, soul-jazz, jackson, cannonball, adderley, blue, note, jive, samba, bossa, nova</itunes:keywords>
        <itunes:author>Jive Samba</itunes:author>
        <itunes:owner>
            <itunes:email>jivesamba@gmail.com</itunes:email>
            <itunes:name>Jive Samba</itunes:name>
        </itunes:owner>

        <itunes:image href="http://www.thevamps.com/images/vamps_logo_booker.jpg"/>
        <itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit>

<item>
<title>Live from Hal and Mal's, Jackson, Mississippi, Nov. 10, 2007: part one</title>
<description>Track Listing: Brown Bag, Samba 64, I Don't Need No Doctor, Red House, Use Me, Fiyo On The Biyo, G Blues</description>
<link>http://www.thevamps.com</link>
<enclosure url="http://www.thevamps.com/audio/live/11.10.07a.mp3" length="74138134" type="audio/mpeg"></enclosure>
<guid>http://www.thevamps.com/audio/live/11.10.07a.mp3</guid>
<pubDate>Thurs, 15 Nov 2007 10:53:43 -0600</pubDate>
<itunes:subtitle>Live from Hal and Mal's, Jackson, Mississippi, Nov. 10, 2007: part one</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>Track Listing: Brown Bag, Samba 64, I Don't Need No Doctor, Red House, Use Me, Fiyo On The Biyo, G Blues</itunes:summary>
<itunes:duration>01:17:08</itunes:duration>
<itunes:keywords>music, mississippi, jazz, soul-jazz, jackson, cannonball, adderley, blue, note, jive, samba, bossa, nova</itunes:keywords>
<itunes:author>Jive Samba</itunes:author>
<itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit>
</item>

<item>
<title>Live from Hal and Mal's, Jackson, Mississippi, Nov. 10, 2007: part two</title>
<description>Track Listing: Brown Bag, Samba 64, I Don't Need No Doctor, Red House, Use Me, Fiyo On The Biyo, G Blues</description>
<link>http://www.thevamps.com</link>
<enclosure url="http://www.thevamps.com/audio/live/11.10.07b.mp3" length="65616022" type="audio/mpeg"></enclosure>
<guid>http://www.thevamps.com/audio/live/11.10.07b.mp3</guid>
<pubDate>Thurs, 15 Nov 2007 10:53:43 -0600</pubDate>
<itunes:subtitle>Live from Hal and Mal's, Jackson, Mississippi, Nov. 10, 2007: part two</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>Track Listing: You Can't Do That, Hot Rod Lincoln, Talkin' To Myself, It's All Good, Just Kissed My Baby, Hottentot, Hey-Pocky-A-Way, Lawyers Guns and Money, We Are The Vamps</itunes:summary>
<itunes:duration>01:08:15</itunes:duration>
<itunes:keywords>music, mississippi, jazz, soul-jazz, jackson, cannonball, adderley, blue, note, jive, samba, bossa, nova</itunes:keywords>
<itunes:author>Jive Samba</itunes:author>
<itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit>
</item>
</channel>
</rss>
